Our history

From a fish-stocking crew to a national host venue

The earliest documented trace of this group is a 1916 photograph in a Forest Lake newspaper, showing members helping the DNR stock fish. The club was formally incorporated in 1937.

In the late 1940s and early 1950s membership shares sold for $100 each. The club bought the parcel west of the clubhouse in the late 1950s and early 1960s, and added 102 acres in the late 1990s. A full-time manager was hired in 2012, and the club has grown steadily since.

Club to confirm: production lists both a 102-acre parcel bought in the late 1990s and a current property of 102 acres. Confirm whether these are the same land or whether the total is larger.
